Does anyone know where I might obtain a decent set of plans for a patrol frigate to build an accurate model? I have been interested in this class of vessel since I was a boy. Having served 28 years in the Coast Guard I obviously became more interested when I discovered many of these ships were manned by Coast Guard personnel. The Mariner's Museum in Newport News gave me the telepone number of a contact for the PF Association, but all I ever got were recorded messages, and no one ever called me back even though I asked them to do so collect!

The Reunion of the Patrol Frigate Reunion Association was held in Kansas City this year and with over 400 (I believe) attendees, a good time was had by all. Last year (1999) we were in Atlanta, Georgia where good old Southern Hospitality was served up. Next year (2001) we'll be in Reno and in 2002 we're setting our sights on Charleston, SC. For more information you've gotta contact > Roberta Shotwell at PatrolF@aol.com I was on the USS CHARLOTTE PF-60 and the USS DEARBORN PF-33 - - Been trying to find pictures of both ... anyone can help, appreciate it.

PATROL FRIGATE SAILORS from WWII. If you did not attend the reunion in Kansas City Oct 12-15,00 you missed a fine time had by all. My ship had five new attendees. Don't know the final count but it is about 400 total. Several ships also had their own rooms for individual ship's dinners. The stories they told about on board and liberty makes one wonder how they can retain the details. Teenagers and not much older at that time. Next reunion city in year 2001 will be Charleston, S.C. For more info check the posting on 06/01/00. U.S.S.GRAND RAPIDS PF31
