Howdy everyone. Hope someone is still reading the Satahip thread.. I was a seaman with George Larimer and Dave Pitkin at Satahip LORAN in 1969-1970. Spent 9 months there before I went to MST school. I remember Woody, Boats (McGurk), Gary Casey (yeoman), Haygood, Joe Lukinich, Terry Wilson, Bob Menary, Jeff Meers, Dick Hurd, Bob Brown, Chief Smith (he became CWO while there, and George Larimer was the first one to salute him for a dollar), and some people I don't know the names of. I too remember the building of the club; it was pretty nice. Also, I've been trying to find out what happened to Dave Pitkin, who was with me in boot camp. He transferred to Tan My from Satahip because there was an opening for a cook. The last time I spoke to him was while standing radio watch on Christmas Eve 1969. He was in Tan My talking to me on the radio. I saved the TWX printout from that Christmas Eve. Everyone was in a sentimental mood that night.
