Cape Porpoise. She was home ported in Morro Bay, CA. In May of 1962 the CO was LTJG Alan F. Miller,

only aboard for 7 months but made SN and learned a lot. Any old shipmates out there?

are a little hazy. The Triton was stationed in Key West, FL on Atlantic Sea Patrol and later in
Staten Island, NY. A little hazy on details, date and time, but those dates are accurate. Would

year of faithful service, now in the merchant marine. She passed her annual passenger vessel CG
inspection without a single 835 (deficiency form) requirement and resumes three hour tours in NY
harbor Monday. Her original 1931 Winton diesels continue to perform perfectly. (see
http://members.aol.com/wpc104 for details). As her Engineer, I would love to hear from any CG
personnel who served aboard her or other 165' cutters so I can keep her history alive for

Park in Port Huron Michigan and in good shape. Most of the gear is still aboard. It has been turned
into a museum. The visit is worth the trip I was aboard in 1962-1964. Rode out the storm of June
1963 when we dragged our mushroom about 1/4 mile off station. Any crew out there?

said: USCGC Cosmos - I was stationed on the construction tender in St Petersburg, Florida from
Jan. 1970 - October 1970 as a DC1. I believe she was an ex-Navy ship 100'; built in the 1940's
looked like a mini-buoy tender and pushed a 68' foot barge from St Pete to the North. I have kept
in touch with a few of the shipmates from that time period.

closed after the war). The only more I know is he possible was a cadet - he has a uniform with a
