The Partridge was a good intro to coast guard life. First unit out of boot camp in 1965.
I kept the bilges spotless because thats the way EN1 Larry Smith wanted them. I didn't stay onboard
as long as i wanted. The bird went to viet nam and i was shipped of to EN school in Groton. I
retired 20 yrs later from staff at engineering school in yorktown. I will always remember the time
on the Partridge in Jonesport Me.

I was the 'Marconi' that Skipper Jerry Echols referred to. I sailed on the Point Cypress
in Phu Quac. Then flew up to Sigon and Cat Lo when we all moved up there. Strange times outside the
gate and in Singapore. I retired after four and settled in San Diego. Sepia Sepia this is Swinging
Kingdom Bravo over.

Reported aboard in Apr 67 and rode her for about 6 months. Went to the spare boat crew
for a month or so and then onto the Slocum until I rotated in Apr 68. Tried to mutual back to the
Partridge at one point but Perry backed out at the last minute. I was lucky to have served on two
good boats with good crews. The 82's were great boats. I would have sailed them anywhere in any
wheather.

has changed in 32 years!! The same RADAR, Galley etc, The Quartermaster said it was going to be
decommisioned and sent to Mexico as has most of the 82's.

Matthews, CS2 Jimmy 'The Huck' Navarro, Densky, Davis and an ET that I remember only as 'Marconi'.
Loved that old boat.
