Mary Simpson

The Yorktown Unit of the Chief Petty Officers' Association Auxiliary notes with deep sadness the passing of Mary Simpson, wife of Paul Simpson (ENCM, Ret.) on October 8, 1999 after a lengthy illness. Mary was an ardent supporter of the Coast Guard and generously volunteered her time and energy. Our unit will miss her sharp wit, her lively spirit and her leadership. Anyone who knew her would not be surprised to hear that, upon entering Heaven, Mary would announce her presence by saying, OK, I'm here now, what needs to be done? Mary was a Chief's Wife of the old school and a role model for us all. The Yorktown CPOAA unit will honor her memory by continuing to support our Chiefs and our Coast Guard.
