Brother of Mary Costello and the late Andrew 'Bud' Scully and the late Kathleen Iacomini. Dearly beloved husband of 55 years to the late Nellie Scully. Father of John Scully and Mary Alotis (Philip). Grandpa to Kelly Scully, James, Christine, and Andrew Alotis A San Francisco native, Jim grew up in the Mission district. He attended St. Paul's Grammar School and graduated from the then St. Joseph's High School. His love of ships and the sea led to a job on the Steam Tug Boat Hercules. He joined the United States Coast Guard at the start of WWII and served on the Coast Guard Cutter Taney in North Africa and in the Pacific Theater in Japan. After the war Jim came back to San Francisco where he met and married the love of his life Nellie. He was a quiet man who loved his family. Jim was proud to be the son of a San Francisco police officer and the father of a San Francisco police officer. He was proud of his grandchildren and took pleasure in watching them grow up. Jim also took pleasure in photography. His excellent eye at the viewfinder as well as his real skill in the dark room shows in his work. We are fortunate to have many wonderful pictures to remember him with. Jim had a long and wonderful life. He is now with his beloved wife. At Jim's request there will be no services.
