Denis A Scottron

Denis Scottron, 61, passed away February 1, 2006. He was living in Friendship, Maine with his family, daughter, Meredith, and her husband and three children. Denis retired in 1989 while living on Gornernor's Island, New York. He was a CWO2, while working with CGI. He started out in the Coast Guard as a radio's man. He was stationed in all the 'warm' climates like Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Fort Lauderdale, Miami. His quote was 'I've cheated life by living in the places people vacationed'. He was a happy person who saw the bright side of life, even at the worst. He still played with his ham radios until the very end. Those were his babies. My Dad was trying to get in touch with some people at the end. Talked about many, but my memory only holds two. Tommy Morgan and Tim Neary. He will be buried at sea on the Coast Guard Cutter 'Campbell'. He considered the Coast Guard a brotherhood and was honored to be part of a team of brave men and woman.
