Marvin J. Sanders
BMCS USCG (Ret.) Marvin J. (Sandy) Sanders, crossed the bar at home in Los Osos, California on June 19th surrounded by his loving family members. Those of us who had the privilege of knowing Sandy and serving with him will always remember him with much love and respect. He joined the Coast Guard in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. During that time he was the officer in charge of six Coast Guard vessels. Following his retirement from the Coast Guard, Sandy taught Naval Sea Cadets basic seamanship and naval history as well as the structure and function of the military way and how it could help their lives. These young men and women will long remember the things that they learned from Sandy. Fair winds and following seas, old friend. We will all miss you greatly! Condolences may be sent to Sandy's widow, Kae, and family at 2641 LaMirada Lane, Los Osos, CA 93402-4431.
