Capt Ted Lawrence Roberge

Just before Christmas, Capt Ted Lawrence ROBERGE, USCG (Ret) passed away at the age of 82, in Port Angeles, Washington. This wonderful seafarer was my uncle, and retired in 1972 after 36 years. He was the last SURFMAN left in the CG when he retired. His last several duty stations were CGC Bering Straits (Viet Nam duty), CO USCGC Glacier, and finally, COTP, Los Angeles/Long Beach. For you historians, Capt Ted Roberge was the son of LT Ted Roberge (Ret), who retired just after WWII with 42 years active duty and was the recipient of the Gold Lifesaving Medal (Wreck of the Rosecrans, Cape Disappointment, 1913). Capt T.L. Roberge is survived by his wife Dorothy and his daughter Jackie.
