William A. Powers, Cdr, USCGR
A World War II Navy veteran and retired Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, passed over the bar on December 10th in the Glens Falls N.Y. Hospital. Bill was born in the Bronx N.Y. In the early 70's he was Chief of police in Indian Shores Fl. He also worked seven years as a New York State trooper, was a supervising investigator for the New York State Liquor Authority and worked three years as a member of the police department in Gulfport Fl. He leaves a wife, Marjorie, of Scroon Lake N.Y., son Thomas, daughters Marlene, Maureen and four grandchildren.
