Capt. Robert C. Powell, USCG (Ret)
Bob Powell USCGA'51 died peacefully in his sleep on February 9th, having fought the good fight against lymphoma cancer and heart problems. Bob's career spanned tours on east and west coast weather patrol cutters,
aviation tours at San Diego A/S, Annette Air Detachment, St Pete A/S, Argentia Air Detachment, CO Savannah A/S, HQ RDT&E, and finally CGD13. He was truly a 'character' and those of us who were lucky enough to serve with him were
treated to some hillarious situations - so our memories will surely bring smiles as we relect on our experiences with Bob. He was a wonderful caregiver to his wife Rosalie who suffers from Parkinsons, and leaves four devoted
daughters and nine grandchildren.
