CHSPCK Thor B. Olson
I just received word that CHSPCK Thor B. Olson passed
over the bar on Friday March 12th. I sure many of you
1st District sailors remember Ollie. He served on the
Duane, Castle Rock, and other 1st District units before
retiring in 1966 to accept the job of building the new
campus of the U. of Mass. in Boston. Ollie was my good
friend, mentor, and shipmate and I will miss him.
