Richard M Oakley

Richard M Oakley, 50, of New Milford Pa., passed away September 2, 2006 unexpectedly. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Maude Elbrecht Oakley; and one brother, Doug Oakley. He is survived by his three sisters and two brother-in-law, Rebecca Sedor of Binghamton, NY, Shawn and Randy Wilmott, Georgetown, KY, and Michele and Mac Baker, Windsor, NY. Also suviving are 11 nieces and nephews; his faithful canine companion, 'Bo' and many very good friends. Richard retired from the United States Coast Guard with over tewenty years of service. He achieved the rank of CWO and worked as a Senior Chief Gunner'sMate. He was on the USCG competitive shooting team and won several awards for marksmanship. He earned Good Conduct Awards and numerous other commendations and metals during his time in the service. Richard loved Nature. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, beekeeping' and especially hunting and competitive shooting. Funeral services will be held at the Tuttle-Yiesley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Avenue, Hallstead PA, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be made in New Milford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 7-9 pm or Wednesday, 1-2pm prior to the funeral service.
