Thomas B. Nagle Sr.
Passing on for all that knew my Uncle Thomas Nagle. Tom (QMCM) crossed the bar this pass Sunday (August 10, 2008). At age 19 Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve his country during World War II and shortly after enlistment, transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard in which he served nearly 22 years and achieved the exemplary rank of Master Chief Quartermaster. In 1956, Tom was awarded a bronze medal by the Italian government to commend him on his efforts as coordinator of the rescue of the luxury ocean liner, Andrea Doria. Tom now joins my Mom and Dad who also served and I am sure they comparing notes.
