Dumont 'Dewey' Mount

DuMONT 'DEWEY' MOUNT, 89, of San Marcos, Calif., who was born in Navesink, MIDDLETOWN,NJ. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, at home, after a stroke followed by a two-month illness. He was born Nov. 30, 1916, in Navesink. He lived on the East Coast for 70 years before moving to California. He lived in San Marcos, Calif., for 18 years. Mr. Mount retired from Bell Labs, Holmdel, in 1977. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired chief petty officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. Dewey was a lifetime member of the Navesink Hook & Ladder Company. A service and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bayview Cemetery, Hosford Avenue, Leonardo. A reception will follow.
