BM3 Clif Mitchell
To my best friend, the man who stuck by me all these years and made me
see that I could do anything.....you left us to early. Clif died in May
of this year, while living in his hometown of Wilmington NC. He was last
stationed at ISC Kodiak AK.

Clif Mitchell
I only recently learned of his tragic passing of last
may. I still remember him as if I saw him yesterday.
Clif worked with me at support center Kodiak- Military
police in 1994. He was the most honorable and
trustworthy of all the MP’s there. Always a smile,
full of respect for others and constantly polite. He
never displayed a mean spirit, nor spoke ill of others.
There were only a few Coasties that I could trust
my life with, and he was one of them. Clif could often
be found on his days off at auto-hobby helping
others. His incredible knowledge of auto mechanics was
sought by many. We had many memorable
times in Kodiak; hunting, fishing & four-wheeling. We
did a lot of crazy things together and I’m glad
Clif was there to keep me out of trouble. Prior to
Kodiak, Clif was a member of the CGC White Lupine
in Rockland, Me. Clif was laid to rest in a Veterans
cemetery with full military honors not far from his
home and family near Wilmington, NC. I was blessed to
have known him, and now very sad about his departure.
A true friend that I’ll never forget. I am happy to
know that I will see him again someday on
that other shore….
