MCPO Norman J. Mellor
Retired U.S. Coast Guard Master Chief Norman J. Mellor, 77, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in the Rose Hawthorne Lathrop Home in Fall River,MA.
Born in Fall River on July 29, 1923.
Mr.Mellor was a World WarII Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.
He retired as a Master Chief after serving 26 years in the Navy and Coast Guard.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 19 in Newport,RI, and the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association.
The funeral will take place Saturday, June2, at 8 a.m. from Jeffery E. Sullivan Funeral Home, 550 Locust Street, Fall River, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Linden
Street, Fall River. Burial will be in ST.Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
