MK1 Michael Lester

Mike is remembered each year at this time by me, he was a friend, a crewman, a mentor, a father, a damn good Coastie. Stationed together in New Orleans when I was a 3rd and he was a MK3, some of those duty nights remain my best memories. Mike died on duty 6 years ago in a vehicle accident shortly after being assigned to CGC White Holly as MK1. Coming from Gulf Strike Team, he left behind many close friends and a Service Record to be emulated by all. Not to forget, also left behind, little Mike Jr. Coast Guard certified diver, exceptional MK, best of friends to all, and one of best human beings that ever walked the earth...Take care Mike, see ya soon.
