George S. Lee, Sr.

Mr. George S. Lee, Sr., 75, of Biloxi, MS died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Biloxi. Mr Lee was born in Biloxi, and after completing his Biloxi High School education joined the Coast Guard as a seaman. He rose through the ranks, retiring in May 1976 as Lt. Commander. In his military career he was stationed through out the U.S., Alaska, and the far east. Much of his duty time was spent in New Orleans and Grand Isle, LA. After his retirement, he moved to Woolmarket, MS for the remaining 26 years of his life.. Gardening, carpentry and traveling were his hobbies and pleasures. Mr. Lee was a Master Mason and member of Magnolia Lodge #120 F.& A.M, Scottish Rite Bodies in Gulfport, MS Grand York Rite bodies of Biloxi Chapter 116, Joppa Temple Shriners and the National Sojourners Kentucky Chapter in Ft. Knox, Ky. He was of Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Carlene Joy Latham Lee, children and grand children. Funeral services will be conducted July 7 . Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetary with U.S.Coast Guard Honors and Masonic Rites. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3100 Samfort Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103.
