Philip G. Ledoux
Mr. Ledoux served in the Coast Guard for 24 years, retiring in 1962 as a
lieutenant. During his tour of duty, he served with the Amphibous forces
of the Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII in Gen. Douglas Mac-Arthur's
Island Hopping Advance. He was the Commanding officer of the CG Ship Legare
at the scene of the rescue effort of the Andrea Doria and Stockholm ship
collision in 1956 off the coast of Nantucket. He passed over the bar,
Saturday, July 25, 1998 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.
