EN2 Lewis F. Koch Sr
It is with sad news to report that EN2 Lewis F. Koch Sr has passed away on March 04 2002. EN2 Koch was born and raised in Cleveland OH and graduated from Cathederal Latin High School. EN2 Koch joined the Coast Guard in the 1960's and served 4 years at Coast Guard Station South Haven Michigan. It is there were Lewis meet his wife Doretta (Sue) Reynolds. Lewis fathered two sons, Lewis Jr. and Eric. Lewis continued to serve the citizens of South Haven by joining the South Haven Police Department. Even though Lewis only served 4 years, his heart was still with the Coast Guard. For many years Lewis made a point to welcome and befriend every OinC that came to the station and offered to help in any way possible. Lewis encouraged both of his sons to join the Coast Guard out of high school, wich they did and are still serving to this day. After 27 years of being a police officer, Lewis retired and with his wife Sue, started up thier own business of serving court papers for Southwestern Michigan. Lewis loved to help people, he was always there to lend a helping hand or advice. But most of all he loved being a grandfather, his grandchildren Tayler, Caitlin and Joshua were the light of his life. Lewis will be sadly missed, but he will always live in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
