Margaret DIEHL Hurxthal Cohen Klass
My cherished friend Peggy Klass died suddenly in Aumsville, Oregon on Oct. 31, 2003, after an
asthma attack. Her father, Admiral Herman Diehl, USCG, deceased, served in various CG districts, and
commissioned a famous cutter in CGDistrict 1 at Constitution Wharf many years ago. I served in
USCG at Constitution office, and other locations in offices of LCMDR Gibson, and CAPT. Meals., and at Separation Center, serving separation papers to my brother Francis C. Re' BM1 in 1946! Met
Peggy (Hurxthal) Diehl at N.E. Deaconess Hospital where I served as Staff Medical Librarian. Adm.
Diehl's daughter was Dietician At Joslin Diabetic Clinic. Does any other 'old Coastie' out there have
knowledge (I can't seem to find) on Adm. Herman Diehl? My first encounter with this website. Hope
it won't be my last.
