Jerald Heinz, Capt, USCG (RET)
I just learn that Captain Heinz passed away on Oct 2nd. He had been battling stomach cancer for the last year. I first met Captain Heinz in Dec 1990 when he was CO of Airsta Clearwater and I reported
aboard as his Comptroller. There are hundreds of people that were touched by him. He truly cared about his crew no matter if they were a Pilot or a cook. He went to become Chief of Staff in D14 before
his retirement just a few years ago. Survivors included his wife, Jodie in St. Petersburg; a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Christina Jones, both of Livonia, Mi.
