CWO-2 (BOSN) Billy R. Hairgrove,USCG (Retired)
Billy died on 25 June 2008 at Mineola,TX. He was a suvivor of the infamous USCGC TRITON 'Rat Pack Crew'. He was a sailors 'Sailor' and the best QM I ever sailed with. He and I e-mailed about forming a 'Last Man' group of CGC TRITON crew members but he said he could not think of a single one who could be trusted to hold the bottle! Billy served on 9 cutters including the CGC Triton in Corpus Christi,TX and the CGC Snohomish in Rockland,ME. He managed an LPG barge faciliy in New Orleans for several years and had retired to his favorite place near Lake Athens,TX. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Carolyn S. Hairgrove. He was born 23 June 1940. Fair winds and Following Seas Billy, I'll hold the bottle!
