My father John passed away on nov 3, 2002 at Kaiser Hospital
in Fremont ca. He was on Guam from 1956 to 58, Alameda from 1958 to 60,1960 to 63 on the Unimak in Cape May NJ then on the Base in Cape May as Fire Chief from 1963 to 65 then
ret in 1968 from alameda.My father was very Proud of the Guard and his time in it,he was espically proud of being a
E9 Damage Control Chief. I miss him very much and the stories he always had to tell about the Guard.

I forgot to say my dad was also in the Seabees and the Navy on the USS Stemble as well as the Greshem in Alameda in the early 1950's he was also stationed in Eureka in the early 1950's.
