BMC Richard Gauthier USCG (ret)
I was informed last
night of the passing of Dick Gauthier. According to his son, Dick suffered a stroke while driving
and managed to get off of the road. He was transported to the hospital and did not recover.Dick
replaced me as XPO of the old Block Island Station in the early 70's. He originally lived in the
same town and after we retired would run into each other from time to time and share tales. We
were not close but members of the Coast Guard family.He will be buried at the Rhode Island
Veterens Cemetery with full honors and will be waked at the Potvin Funeral Home 45 Curson Street
West Warwick RI on Friday July 8th 5 to 8 PM.
