Gerard B. Gavin
COLONIE N.Y. Gerard B. Gavin Sr. died suddenly on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at his home. He was born in Long Island, N.Y. Mr. Gavin was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving his country during World War II. He graduated from Siena College and pursued graduate studies at Union College. He was a nuclear physicist with Knolls Atomic Power Lab until his retirement in 1984. He received a national award in Who's Who for nuclear science. . He is the beloved husband of 57 years to Virginia A. Gavin. He is the devoted father of Gerard B. Gavin Jr. , Donna Apple, Deborah Rastinehad , Arlene Mirabile , Christine Ericson, and numerous grandchildren.
