LCDR Valentine (Val) Gaida
Mr Gaida was well-known by Radiomen from the 50s through
70s. A recent note in the Retiree's Newsletter reported Mr
Gaida died in October, 1998. I first knew him as an RMC,
then a brand-new WO-1 at Hq. Later I was stationed with
Mr Gaida at NMC, met him again at NMQ years later when he
had been promoted to LT for outstanding service at Hq.
Later Mr Gaida became my boss when I was transferred to
the communication centre at the 11th CG District on Pine St.
Everyone who knew Mr Gaida will remember him fondly. He
was a great guy!
