Charles R. Fernandez

Master Chief Engineman Charles R. Fernandez passed away on December 9, 2006 in Port Huron, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Caroline, and five children. He was 76. I served with Charlie aboard Acacia, 1970-72. To us he was known as 'Choo Choo Charlie' because of some of his exploits while in the yards at Sturgeon Bay. He liked to play hard, but he worked hard too. He will be missed.
