CDR. George Ellis
It is with much sorrow thaat I announce the death of my father George Ellis (CDR. USCG Retired). Many of you know that Dad had been fighting cancer for the past year and a half. He lost his courageous battle on Monday, December 21 at 8:25PM with his wife and daughter at his side. He told Mom that he felt calm inside and she said he died very peacefully.
A visitation is scheduled at St. Mark's United Methodist Church (639 Azalea Road Mobile, AL) at 5 PM Wednesday, December 23rd and Funeral Services at 6 PM. Burial services will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Thusday, December 24th at 10:15 AM.
Rather than sending flowers we would be pleased if you sent a donation in Dad's memory earmarked for esophageal cancer research to the American Cancer Society, 917 Western America Circle, Suite 104, Mobile AL 36609. If you put a note with Mom's name, Irene Ellis, She will get the acknowledgement.

Cdr. George Ellis
I have lost two good friends in the past month. Capt. Joe Tanguay and Cdr. George Ellis. They took care of a rag-tag crew of a 82 ft. patrol boat (Point Batan) of which I was the XPO from 78-81. George was my defense counsel when I made Chief. I shall always remember him and Joe Tanguay and I will miss them both, always!
