James W. Dyer, YNCM, USCG RET

, Former CEA 12th Coast Guard District. Auto hobby attendant at TRACEN Petaluma. Services for James W. (Jay) Dyer, 76, of Whitney, were held Saturday July 21, 2007, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Director Chapel in Whitney. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery. He was Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Lecompte, La., to Wilburn and Margaret Guy Dyer. Jay had a 32 year military career in the United States Coast Guard. His hobbies included restoring vintage antique cars. On June 15, 1944, he married Johnnie Nash in Whitney. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Nash Dyer of Whitney; four daughters, Elizabeth Montgomery and Jaime Simms, both of Batavia, Ohio, Peggy Davis of Southgate, Ky., Joni Rangel and her husband, Robert of Morgan Hill, Calif.; four step-children, Paul Scott Bissing and his wife, Janice, Robin B. Peters and her husband, Edward, James S. Bissing and his wife, Rexann, all of Whitney, and Patricia Bissing of Euless, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two pets, Dog and Doo.
