Roger J. Desharnais

I am the widow of Roger J. Desharnais who died on June 6, 2002. My late husband proudly served in the USCG from November 14, 1961 until April 10, 1964. He served on a LORAN station in Matsumae, Hokkaido Japan from July 1962 until July 1963. My late husband was one of the founders of a Vietnam veterans outreach center in Massachusetts that, today, houses homeless veterans and provides many services for the veteran community. Whenever he saw a Coast Guard base in our travels on the east coast, he always made it a point to visit it. The service never left him. I'm proud of my late husband's military service and commitment.
