MK2 Wayne Crews
Sunday March 8th, on a cold and rainy afternoon, Coast Guard Station
Marblehead lost a valuable member of their crew. Petty Officer Crews
gave his life doing something he loved....being a member of the United
States Coast Guard. Wayne recently returned to active duty after being
with PSU 309, a port security reserve unit in Port Clinton, OH. While
with the PSU, Wayne served his country in Desert Storm and in Uphold
Democracy in Hiati, although he enjoyed his work as a reserve his heart
was longing to return to active duty....which he did in December of 1997.
Petty Officer Crews leaves behind a wife and 2 daughters and countless
friends who will miss him dearly. Although there is sadness in his
death...let us find comfort in the good memories he left us in our
hearts. Let us keep in our prayers his family, his friends and his
the crew he leaves behind...there will be an emptiness in the hearts
of Station Marblehead and PSU 309.
