MCPOCG#1 Charles L. Calhoun USCG(Ret)
A truly fitting memorial service was held Sat 16 March for Charlie at Berlin, MD. The CG came through once more, with the attendance of the six remaining MCPOCG's, many gold badges, cea's, chiefs, CG Hq honor guard, Cape May
recruit honor guard and a final salute - fly-by - of a CG helo. This was an impressive service for a very impressive Coast Guardsman. A memorial I will always remember.

MCPOCG #1 Charles L. Calhoun, USCG (RET)
Charlie Calhoun died at his home in Santa Rosa CA on Feb 24 after nearly six years confinement from strokes and hear failure. Charlie was a true and dedicated Coast Guardsman. I was fortunate to have known him from
the early 1950's on and during his tenure as the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard. He will be missed by the Coast Guard community and his faithful caregiver wife Mary.
