Walton J. Buck
Walton J. Buck Lansing, MI Age 85, passed away July 8, 2006. He was born in Lansing on February 7, 1921. He was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran. Walton built many Lansing area homes during his 40 year career as a builder/contractor; then he became an instructor at Lansing Community College. Walton taught there for 25 years in the Building Trades Department and retired in 2003 at age 82. Walton was a gifted builder and a creative person. He painted, played the dulcimer, built a sailboat, was a pilot and had many other interests and hobbies. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth H. He is also survived by 3 daughters: Debbie Dunckel and husband, Ray; DeEllen Elder and husband, Jim; and Doreen Buck. Walton's son, Douglas, preceded him in death 24 years ago. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 siblings. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 North Capitol Avenue, with Pastor Paul Lindloff of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
