AE2 Deborah (Debbie) Jean Brusenhan (Fahey)

It is with great regret that I must announce the death of my wife and our shipmate AE2 Deborah J. Brusenhan (Fahey). She had battled lung cancer for just over 3 years, and could no longer fight. She passed at 0205 on Friday morning, March 9th, 2007. She was 49 years young. She served roughly 14 years (broken service) between 1979 and 1996. We were married in Kodiak in May of 1982. She is survived by husband James K. 'Duck' Brusenhan, USCG Ret, Son Sean (22), Daughter Kelsey (20) and Daugher Katherine (Katie, 17). We had hopes that she would make it through to seeing her first grandchild (from Kelsey, due May 3rd) and seeing Katie graduate from High School, but it was not to be. She passed quietly in her sleep, and surrounded by her family. I was standing over her at the time, and I told here everything was going to be all right. Services were yesterday, 13 March, at St Pius X Catholic Church, and the weather at the graveside couldn't have been better. Attended by Patriot Guard escort, and a Coast Guard honor guard. I found out after the service that the honor guard Chief was AVTC Pat Walker, with whom both Deb and I had been stationed. Small world.
