Samuel Bromley, LCDR, USCG (ret)
Sam Bromley epitomized what every Coast Guardsman should be honest, fair
and always - Semper Paratus. Sam's CWO gruffness was only matched by his
kindness. He lived his life to the fullest with the ideals of Family
first then a career long before work-life was thought of at Buzzard's
Point. Sam served for over 30 years of active duty, completing a tour
in Vietnam with Squadron One. He chose to become an MK (actually Boiler
Tech for the Old Guard) becoming a Warrant Officer and eventually selected
for the Warrant to Lieutenant Program. As a officer Sam was switched to
the Marine Safety program. I am very fortunate to have had Sam as my
Supervisor at MSD Kodiak as boot MST3. As I look back on our tour
together I realize Sam taught me more about being a leader and a
shipmate than any school ever will. Sam lost his battle to esophageal
cancer June 28th. The world is a sadder place without Sam and I for one
will miss him dearly. Fair Winds and Following Seas Sam....
Sam is being buried in Arlington Cemetary on July 14th at 1 pm.
Friends are welcome to pay one last tribute to our fallen friend.
