YN1 Sylvia Margaret Blue
In memory of YN1 Sylvia Margaret Blue, who crossed the bar in peace
February 2, 1996, leaving two sons, a daughter-in-law, a beautiful
granddaughter, and a loving husband and friend of 17 years. Sadly,
she never got the chance to see her grandson. She loved the Guard,
(serving at PacArea and Soo Control in Sault Ste Marie, MI)and hated
having to leave the Service because I was also active duty and we
couldn't be stationed together, even tho she also wanted to go to
college (succeeded in graduating with a 3.6, altho it took seven
years as a result of a horrendous car crash and resulting head
injuries and physical disabilities). She overcame a lot of hardship
and obstacles in her life, and was a success in every way. She never
lost her love of the sea and the Coast Guard, and her ashes have been
and will be scattered wherever she sailed, or had hoped to. She is
safe now, and life cannot hurt her any more.
