I just wanted to let all those who served in the Fort Totten area of Long Island Sound, that a great Auxiliarist who was best friends to many Coasties over his 40+ years of service and the ultimate skipper of his proud
vessel SUNCAT, passed away on the 8th of July after a short illness. In honor of him many members of the Auxiliary and the active duty CG will perform a scattering of ashes in his favorite AOR on Saturday 20 July. This was one great man
that answered the call continuously and his efforts have contributed to many life saving cases and many members Team Coast Guard being boat crew trained as was his favorite mission. Sonny will always be missed by his friends and the Coast
Guard.
