G. H. Ben Benson USCG Ret.

With much sadness, I am reporting in that my father, EMCS G H Ben Benson, died due to cancer related problems. Ben served his love, the Coast Guard, for over 20 years -7 of them on the Cutter STORIS. From '58 thru '65 Dad was an aids to navigation teacher at the Coast Guard Training Station, Avery Point,Ct. Many sailors learned about the going's on in the engine room from Dad. Ben made it clear that he loved Alaska too, and his last request was to be buried there. Ben has been relieved of duty and will rest forever at Fort Richardson,Alaska.
