Captain Kris W. Barrett USCGR Retired

On July 15, 2003 Captain Kris W. Barrett USCGR Retired died at home after a prolonged bout with cancer. Kris served 31 years, both on active duty and Coast Guard Reserve. It was my great pleasure to meet him for the first time when he assisted me with the instructor duties at the HazChem Training Course, Marine Safety School, Yorktown, VA in 1979 and he and I became very good friends. His contributions to the Coast Guard Reserve Program were second to none. A special Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 1PM St.Peters Episcopal Church, Osterville, MA. I wish him fair winds and a following sea.
