Milton John Ayres
It was reported that on November 30,2001 Milton John Ayres Master Chief Machinist Mate passed over the bar at Largo, Florida. Big John was thought of by a large number of people as the greatest Chief Petty
Officer they ever served with. I served with John when I was just a young man and credit him with being the reason my life turned out so well. I had not seen John in forty years and thats my loss. I wish that every one had
been able to serve with and know him, you would be better for it.
