Charles 'Chic' Attig
It is with great sadness that I must pass the word that Charles 'Chic' Attig,
who served aboard the Half Moon on her deployment to Viet Nam, 'crossed the bar' on
January 10th, 2000. As many of you know Chic served on the 1997 Reunion Committee and was
very active in Veteran's affairs and in helping to make sure that our POWs and MIAs were
never forgotten. Anyone wishing to send a card to his family may contact me for his
address. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, his widow has asked that his friends consider
donations to the New Jersey Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Foundation. I can provide the
address for anyone who would like to make a contribution. Although we never sailed
together on board the Half Moon, I came to know Chic quite well while working with him
on the reunion. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
