Russell F. Ames

Russell Ames A San Diego resident since 1965, died at home 7-16-98 His death was attributed to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Russell, A retired Coast Guard ATC & Navy Public Works Center Employee, remained active all his life. A man who loved camping, square dancing bicycling and being a Ham Radio Operator, he was especially proud of his years as an Asst. Boy Scout Leader. He was a devoted family man. Survived by his wife of 47 yrs, June, his children, Debbie Cowell Pam Webb, and Russell Jr; his sister Nancy Ames; and four grandchildren Services were held at Fort Rosecrans Military Cemetery, 7-23-98. The family request donations be made to ALS Assoc., 21021 Ventura Blvd. #321, Woodland Hills, Ca.92364, or to the Alzheimer's Disease Research CNTR. UCSD, 9500 Gilman Dr. LaJolla,Ca 92093
