This was an exciting week for the NORTHLAND crew. The week began with our weekly serving of Sundaes on Sunday. After everyone had their fill of ice cream YN3 Murrell kicked of the weekly Bingo game. Some of the crew members are starting to look like professionals manning as many as 10 cards and double fisting markers. It is a great time, full of laughs and smiles. The next day everyone’s focus shifted to the New Years countdown. NORTHLAND conducted a New Years count down of its own, thanks to the ingenuity of the Navigation Division. NORTHLAND re-enacted the Times Square ball drop. Although our ball was made out of an anchor day shape and Christmas lights and did not come close to costing the millions spent on the Times Square ball, it still brought loads of excitement and joy to the NORTHLAND crew. Happy New Year family and friends.

After our New Years celebration the NORTHLAND crew set its sights on preparing for TACT. Drills were conducted and the crew performed top notch. There is still work and preparation to be done, but the crew is committed to performing at its best. Check back next week for updates on the crew of CGC NORTHLAND underway in distant waters.
