Catchin' Up
Sticking to the Routine
We had a pretty routine week here onboard CGC NORTHLAND. The fog rolled in, and the decreased visibility made operations more difficult, but as always CGC NORTHLAND adapted well. A pyrotechnics exercise was conducted on board for new crew members. The fog was so thick that the flares were out of sight in a few seconds.
The crew had an opportunity to get a few fish calls in. Although the lines were going down, the fish were not coming up. Honorable mention goes to FSC Silva, who was a master angular reeling in a few big ones.
While in the North Atlantic the crew also had the chance to visit beautiful Portland, Maine The city had a lot to offer with great food, awesome scenery, and a robust nightlife. The time in Maine was enjoyable, providing a short time for rest and relaxation. Many smiles could be seen as crewmembers made their way down the pier and out into town.
This is CGC NORTHLAND, standing by in the North Atlantic.
Welcome Aboard!
