Catchin' Up

There’s a lot to catch up on since the end of week 5. Our Weapons officer, ENS Staudt, and his crew of gunners mates hosted another gun shoot. This time the ship simulated warning shots and disabling fire using our .50 caliber machine guns.

The crew also awarded MK1 Caropepe as their Sailor of the Quarter for the Second quarter of 2008. Congratulations!

The MOHAWK family grew by six this week when we took on an aviation detachment. The crew is very excited to be working with a helicopter.

Like all good weeks onboard MOHAWK, we concluded a restful Sunday with the boarding of a suspect fishing vessel before our transit into our final port call of the patrol. The crew then said goodbye to our Executive Officer and Supply Officer. Good luck CDR Polizzotto and CWO Jeffcoat, we wish you fair winds and following seas for your next tour!
