Catchin' Up

Week two was a flurry of activity on MOHAWK. For Friday the 13th the crew did enjoy some down time and an evening of classic horror flicks. The movie petty officer, ET3 Liedke, ensures that the crew has movie entertainment every evening.

The rest of the week found all hands engaged in Law Enforcement boardings, sometimes simultaneously. The level of teamwork and tenacity were a testament to the crew’s professionalism and drive. Support department and several break-ins aided in monitoring the tow watch for a vessel MOHAWK towed alongside and astern for 4 days while conducting an at sea counter-drug boarding. Deck department volunteered their time and exceptional muscular strength to help move cargo onboard one vessel to ensure the boarding team achieved full at sea space accountability. One crewmember noted that this was such a great week for MOHAWK because he could see how every shipmate played a part in all the evolutions, and did it willingly without complaint. The crew is now looking forward to some relaxation and fun in our upcoming port call!
