Holiday Edition
There was so much happening this week that we needed another chapter for Week 2! The MOHAWK crew would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! We thank our families and friends for understanding that our nation’s call to service is a year round commitment, and we’re proud to serve as its guardians in the Caribbean this year.
The crew knows how to rise to any occasion and celebrating Christmas while underway was no different. On Christmas Eve, many participated in a Gingerbread House decorating competition, working in small groups to create them. The engineers busted out tools and got down to business building a brick gingerbread house. One group constructed a MOHAWK gingerbread boat and another built a gingerbread mobile home.
On Christmas Day, in addition to normal operations and receiving a call from, Commander, Atlantic Area to wish us a Merry Christmas, the crew watched Christmas movies, opened presents from the Ombudsman, participated in a White elephant gift exchange and ate delicious food prepared by our wonderful food service staff.
