Caribbean Patrol - Week 2

We join the crew of the Cutter Mohawk underway on a patrolin the Caribbean.

Catchin' Up

Hello again from MOHAWK! This week was such a blast for the crew. After a few days at sea, we pulled into St. Thomas for a port call. There was so much to see and many took advantage of the time given to travel all over the island. Our location at the cruise ship pier made it perfect for walking downtown or renting a Jeep to drive to the north side of the island. Some took the ferry to St. John or hopped on a surf board in Hull Bay. Magen’s Bay was a popular place for the crew as well. St. Thomas provided a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind from the busy patrol schedule we’ve already experienced.

Once underway from St. Thomas, the pace of operations picked up again, but that didn’t stop our planned morale events for Christmas Eve. We made a brief stop on Mona Island to swim and hike. At quarters, we had a crazy holiday hat contest. The contestants all looked great and the winner received a pass for no duty in the rest of the port calls while on patrol. YN2 Jones was named victor for her creative, decorated Christmas tree atop a pile of nicely wrapped gifts. Those not competing in the contest were asked to still arrive at quarters looking festive for our holiday photo. So for all our family and friends, we hope you enjoy our Christmas spirit and a quick look into a MOHAWK Christmas.
